Tricks with the self timer on your camera.

One of the problems I have with taking pics of myself with the self timer is I can't get the particular pic that I want. I have taken photos of me feeding my fish but I usually can't get my fish in the photo. My previous koi fish were a lot friendlier. They would be out on the surface for a long time. But my current fish are extremely shy. There are six of them but they only appear on the surface for a split second before splashing some water on my feet and disappearing into the depths.

But I managed to catch two of them in this pic. How did I do it?

It's really quite simple. I set my camera to the sports mode and make it take a pic every single second. Of course I have dozens of photos that show me alone without my fish but these can be got rid of later. And there are sure to be a few with the fish in the pics.  This is one of them.

This trick is very useful when you are doing a jump shot except that you may have to set the camera to take a pic every 0.4 second or even less.  OK, now you know all my secrets. LOL.
