Working in the nude is dangerous?

Since yesterday, 1 February 2019 was World Working Naked Day, I did a lot of gardening work  - cutting branches off trees, pruning the hedge. I used an assortment of knives and shears. A friend who saw one of the pics I posted online said I could have snipped off my genitals. He thinks working in the nude was dangerous.

But how can that be when historians tell us that in biblical times, everyone who did manual labour worked in the nude? Because clothes were very expensive and people were generally poor, each man only had one set of clothes which they couldn't afford to ruin when they were working.

Of course we have to be more careful of thorns and broken branches when we're naked. But we have to be careful even when we are clothed.  I don't find working in the nude at all dangerous.

I used very large blades

And I climbed tall ladders to reach high branches.

I got to soak in the Vitamin D from the sun. It's obvious where I get my rich tan from.

The one area I needed protection were my eyes. When I cut a branch off, there is a great deal of debris that would fall into my eyes.

My wife got me a pair of protective goggles. I may look silly in them but they are really good.

CONCLUSION

The only thing I need to wear when I do gardening is a pair of protective goggles for my eyes.

  1. Stepping on a thorny branch smarts something awful...trust me on this. ;o)

    1. Of course you are right. I am usually very careful when I am barefoot and I step on grass. I make sure there are no branches with thorns. Even a sharp stone can cause pain to the bare foot. It is for this reason that I always wear proper boots when I go hiking in the nude. Footwear is important in some terrain.
