For a long time, I rebelled against reading an e-book. I just couldn't imagine reading from a screen. It's enough that I look at the screen all the time, be it the phone or my laptop, but I thought when it was time for me to lie down with a book in hand, it had to be a REAL book.
I then got started with reading books from my iPad and it was great. Some books are so thick that I can easily sprain my hands by just holding them up to read. An iPad can accommodate hundreds of thick books. Recently, I ordered a Kindle which has the advantage over the iPad in that it reads just like paper and you are not staring at a light source. And I'm absolutely addicted to it. Books that I used not to read because they were way too heavy for my hands are now easily accessible to me. Here I'm reading a book that actually weighs a ton and I'm holding it with one hand. It's amazing what modern technology can do for us.
Yes, I know, the Kindle has been around for more than a decade but I've been resisting it all this while. I used to say disdainfully to the typical ebook advocate that real books were made of paper. Now I blush at the thought of that.
