重阳节

Happy Double Ninth Festival or 重阳节!  This is a very old festival and its earliest appearance in writing predates the birth of Christ. The festival bears no significance to most people today because like most ancient festivals, it's steeped in superstition. But what is interesting to me is that most people hike up mountains on this day to balance the preponderance of 'yang' in the 'yin'-'yang' force whatever that may mean to ancient people. A lot of 重阳节 greetings depict scenes of people hiking up a mountain.  I have created the naturist version of the greeting.

It's called Double Ninth Festival because it always falls on the 9th day of the 9th month of the Lunar calendar which is today, 25 October. If you are familiar with Chinese writing, you'll probably think my handwriting is atrocious and I can only say you are absolutely right. LOL
