Down but not out

I woke up this morning with a very bad flu and sore throat. My nose has been runny the whole day and even now (6.25pm).

Someone on this blog remarked that I didn't seem to have bad days. But this is one truly rotten day for me. Sore throat and flu.  But I have always refused to allow the cruel hand of fate to ruin my day. I always make the best of a rotten deal. As the poet says, under the bludgeonings of chance, my head is bloody but unbowed.

So I got myself a cup, dissolved a tablet of 1000mg Vitamin C and helped myself to a persimmon and took selfies of course! I read somewhere once that a selfie addict is always a happy person.

You can't even tell I'm unwell. I really believe that if you smile and have a good time, all your troubles will be miles away (OK, my excuse for plagiarizing is it's so close to Christmas!).

My wife said I should be clothed today because I'm not well but hey, I live almost on the equator. I'm sure I will feel better without the impediment of clothing.

In my country, the government is very disturbed by the high proportion of people with clinical depression. I believe a lot of it is due to the extremely high expectations people place on themselves. Let's all take it easy and have a truly merry time as we prepare for the birth of the King of Kings.

  1. Greetings! Even in poor health you look great. You’re right about succumbing to an illness. Most folks feel bad when they’re unwell. You gotta fight viruses and disease on all fronts, especially with a positive attitude. Sunshine is good too. Please tell your wife you’re absorbing Vitamin D!
