As everyone knows, I have been complaining ad nauseam about Crooked Flickr. They promised 1 Tetrabyte of free photo storage space and then suddenly, just a few weeks ago, they announced that they will delete the photos in all free accounts that are in excess of 1,000 photos. They will delete your photos as early as 5 February next year. One way out, and of course they recommend this, is you become a paid subscriber. Pay them USD 50.00 a year and they won't delete your photos. But if you should forget to renew your subscription for whatever reason, their scissors will go to work and your photos will be deleted.
Flickr knows that the world is full of ninnies. Threaten them with the deletion of their photos (never mind your earlier promise that they would be given 1 Tetrabyte of free photo storage space) and people will generally go on their knees and hand you whatever money you ask for. Flickr needs ninnies but alas for them, I'm not one. There may be millions of ninnies out there and they don't need me but the fact is I'm not one and can never be one. You can threaten all you want to delete my photos unless I pay up but the fighter in me will do what I can to salvage my property and ask you to bugger off.
I decided to spend weeks downloading all my photos systematically. And when I last checked, I had more than 180,000 photos on Flickr. I paid more than USD 200.00 to get reliable hard disks and for the next couple of weeks or so, I put my nose to the grindstone downloading everything. I'm happy to say that I succeeded in downloading ALL my 180,000 photos. I have a back up in case one hard disk crashes.
I will still maintain my Flickr account (for free) so I can tell people not to allow themselves to be blackmailed by Flickr. But I will direct people to this blog. There won't be new content on Flickr - my intention is not to benefit Crooked Flickr in any way.
The good thing about getting out of Flickr is my photos now have a new lease of life. They used to be all stored up somewhere deep in Flickr and quite inaccessible even to me. Today, all my photos are stored in folders according to the date. I can pick any photo according to the date when it was taken and post them on this blog; it's that easy.
For example, here is a photo taken in a haunted house that I booked in Sarlat-la-Canéda close to Christmas on 19 December 2013. It is a house that dates back to the 17th century and it was shortly after midnight (the photo time stamp says it was 1.10 am) when I decided to take lots of selfies to see if I might capture the image of some ancient ghost in my photos. But I had no luck; the only ghost was me.
If you have a Flickr account and you are not a ninny, start downloading all your photos. We must show large companies (such as Flickr) they can't get their money by going back on their word and threatening their users that their photos will be deleted if they don't pay up. You cannot conscientiously pay such a company any money.
Thank you for the reminder about Flickr.
ReplyDeleteYou're a real nice looking guy and I love the opportunity to view your dick. Yum.
Remember, they will start deleting your photos on Flickr on 5 February 2019. These money-grubbing folks will be very merciless in their deletion. I want to say something else about the human body. For most people, the sight of a naked woman, or even just the breasts, evokes all the sex in their minds. I would like to think that this is the wrong conditioning that all of us have experienced in our past since we were raised as non-naturists. It's a conditioning that reinforces the non-naturist view that sexualises the human body. I believe that once we get our bearings right on this, breasts, penises and other parts of the human body will not immediately trigger in our minds the image of sex. But I am always open to views of all kinds and I also believe discussing things openly is the way to progress. This is why although comments are moderated, I do not disallow a comment unless it's abusive or too overtly inappropriate. I am happy to listen to views that differ from mine.
DeleteThanks again for your comment and don't forget to download all your Flickr photos before they get deleted. Cheers, Lim
Again I point out, respectfully, that the human body Is sexual, always has been, always will be. The human body is not "sexualized" by viewing the nude body. It's already "sexualized" by Nature. There is NO thing wrong with that! It's perfectly...natural.
DeleteI understand the intended message with the mantra that nudism is not about sex. That's ok too. But this notion that a sexual being can be "sexualized" from external sources is, forgive me, absurd. That's natural too! The only way to make the human body non-sexual is to suppress, repress, and oppress Nature! This is not a healthy attitude.
We must learn that, just as the nude human body is not indecent, obscene, or pornographic, human sexuality is not indecent, obscene, or pornographic either.
Both are an inherent part of being human. They cannot be separated in nature, or denied in reality.
When I look at the human body I see "gender". I may or may not see "sex" in the flesh. There is no way to deny those human sexual organs. To even try would be... delusional.
What I'm saying is... Nudists need to learn to accept their NATURAL human sexuality as a part of their natural human nude bodies, and accept that it is normal, natural, decent, and part of the beauty and wonder of being human.
Thank you for the opportunity to express my thoughts on this subject.
Sincerely,
De eM
Hi, thanks for your very thoughtful and insightful comment. Of course I'm not denying that my penis is a sex organ. I'm saying that it should not be talked about in that way publicly.
DeleteI have no doubt that iameverywhere does not mean to be rude but it is possible for someone reading what he wrote to draw a sexual conclusion from it. It's because I recognise that the penis is a sex organ that I wrote my cautionary remark. It is for this reason that most people don't make any remark about the genitals. It's because the remark can be misconstrued. A person can freely make any remark he wants about my toes or knees or elbows. While the genitals are sexual organs, emphasis should not be placed on them on a public forum. A large part of the non-naturist world actually believes that naturism is all about sex. This is why all naturist associations treat sex as a taboo in the naturist context. It's not that we don't recognise our sexuality. We all have sex and have kids of our own too. But we want the world to see that nudity is not all about sex. This blog is meant to serve the function of telling the world something about naturism. The world needs to know that we are all normal people - we have families of our own, we do the usual daily chores like everybody else and we also take an interest in a wide variety of subjects and can discuss them, just like everybody else. The only difference is we are not ashamed of our naked bodies which we view as wholesome and pure. We accept our bodies even though we have countless physical blemishes.
Imagine the kind of impression I will give if I post an article about sex and show photos of sexual indulgence. The non-naturist reader will immediately pounce on the naturist as a sex maniac who is naked for a sexual purpose. That will defeat the whole purpose of this blog and my previous blogs. By keeping this blog clean of sex, I am not denying that I an a sexual creature. I am not saying I'm sexless. All I'm saying is what one does in the marital union is a private matter that is not the subject of naturist interest.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and everyone else!
Lim
