My new Operation HULK

One of the problems I have is inconsistency - I can't stick to an exercise regime. I started Operation HULK ages ago but up to this moment, I have no muscles to show. I notice one problem I have. I am inherently lazy. Whenever I have the smallest reason not to go to the gym, I will skip it gladly. Last Thursday, I went to the gym and decided to work out 5 days a week as long as I am not abroad. But I will be abroad most of next month and in April. It can't be helped. My new rules are to go the gym every day from Monday to Friday as long as I am not abroad. These are the pics I took last Thursday, 21 February 2019. I will give myself a year and I will pose the same way again on Friday, 21 February 2020 and I will see if there is a difference. Will Operation HULK work? Seeing is believing. We'll just have to wait until this time next year.

Right now, I have a lot to work on. I won't bother with the development of my abs muscles because replacing my current thick layer of stomach fat with pure muscles is pure fantasy. Besides, I'm already a happily married family man of advanced years who's no longer in the mating game unlike those who are my son's age. But my arms need to be developed, not for aesthetics but for practicality. Having strong arms is always useful when you're doing gardening or carrying your rucksack when you are hiking or rowing a boat. My legs are naturally muscular from years of Kung Fu training as a child and so I only need to do some cycling exercises when I'm in the gym.

Let's see how I turn out on 21 February 2020. I am hoping that by making a public statement of this sort, I will be motivated to push on with this exercise regime. I pledge to post the same two pics of the same pose on that day even if I don't gain muscles or if my body turns out even worse, if that is possible!

NOTE: I've entered in my diary to remind myself to take the same pics on 21 February 2020. I hope there will be an appreciable improvement.  Until then, JUST DO IT!!!

  1. Hello again my friend! Am glad you’re blogging again. Thought maybe you’d taken ill. I think the Hulk Challenge is a great idea. First off, the one year goal is smart. Too many of us set unrealistic goals and get frustrated and disappointed. I’m rooting for you!

Did I tell you your writings are more uninhibited than your photos? Here’s my reasoning. Over this and your other blog, think I’ve seen your God given attributes in all their glory: watering plants, feeding fish, lounging, jumping (!), king fuing and in other poses. Please don’t misunderstand; love your candor and willingness to share your naturist ways with us.

But we’ve seen you, all of you. With the help of my zoom features, more than you know!

Your writings are more provocative than your photos. You write about the prudishness of certain cultures, including your own, that serve as the impetus for your activism. You’ve written about religion in a thought provoking, respectful way. You’re an erudite man. I enjoy you and your willingness to share so much with the world. Wish you health and best wishes for many more years of diaries.

    1. Hi anonymous,
Thanks for your comment.I've never thought of the idea of one's photos being less inhibited than one's writings. But when I thought about it, of course it stands to reason that one can express a lot more in writing than in photos. In a photo diary, I can show photos of me eating, reading, working, etc. But that's all. A picture may be worth a thousand words but words can exceed a mere thousand. Words can express one's ideas about religion, the world around us, politics and just about any subject under the sun and beyond it. A picture can't do that. Hence the 'inhibition' of my photos is merely the limitation of a picture when you pit it against words.

It's flattering and fun to read your praises but I must say I was quite amused when I read your final paragraph. It's nice to see my non-existent erudition conjured up and praised. Thanks for the compliments. Again, that is the beauty of words, your words. That which is undoubtedly pedestrian and banal can be made out to appear erudite and thought-provoking, as you have so kindly done to my writings.

      Cheers,

      Lim

    1. I have stopped going to the gym for at least two weeks. I must get back to it soon. That's the good thing about taking lots of selfies. They serve as a reminder of what I did in the past and what I should do in the present. Haha.
